I recent took an engineering course call Mechatronics last semester and it focused on the combination of electronics, with mechanical components. One major issues found in robotics today is the amount of unknown variables a robot must try and control. The encorporation of neural link would allow engineers to bypass the need to code human movements. This will translate very well in the medical field as docotrs will be able to operate and control medical devices with high precision. Moreover, despite being able to enhance cognitive abilities, there are many ethical and health related concerns. At the moment, we do not know the long term effects of neural link to the human brain. In addision, neural link is a very lucrative piece of technology and can be used for personal gain or power. In my opion, I believe that there should be another decade of research and testing before neural link is placed into a human body.
